Rock singer Ann Everton, best known as a member of the experimental rock duo Darsombra, has tragically died at the age of 43 after a multi-car crash in upstate New York. The accident occurred on October 3 on Interstate 87, when the couple’s touring van collided with a police cruiser that had stopped for a traffic check.
Despite the police cruiser having its flashing lights on, the van hit it at high speed. Ann was pronounced dead at the scene, while her husband and bandmate Brian Daniloski and a state trooper were rushed to the hospital with injuries.

Ann’s brother-in-law, Jon Garrett, confirmed her passing through an emotional statement shared online.
He said, “On behalf of the Everton family, it is with deep sadness that I share the heartbreaking news that my sister-in-law, Ann Everton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon following a car accident.”
He added that Brian “sustained severe injuries” and faces a long road to recovery. To help with his medical treatment and recovery, the family has created a GoFundMe page.
Jon added, “We know Ann would have wanted nothing more than to ensure Brian is cared for during this difficult time, and we are deeply grateful for any donations.”

Describing Ann’s kind and creative nature, Jon said she was “an incredibly warm and generous soul and a true artist.” He also shared how deeply connected Ann and Brian were, saying, “She and Brian built a beautiful life together.”
Brian’s brother, Jason Daniloski, also shared his grief, saying, “It’s been awful. I’ve never heard anguish like that in anybody’s voice.”
