US President Donald Trump arrived in Scotland on 26 July 2025 for a working visit, but while Trump had talks with officials and golfed at his Turnberry resort, his absence sparked serious speculation. The United States First Lady (FLOTUS) did not join the President for the visit, which left questions regarding their relationship. Gossip of a split has once again been put in the spotlight and is gaining firmer ground, particularly as Melania has stayed at the White House for only two weeks since Trump’s second inauguration on 20 January.
Trump Has Scotland Fun Alone
Soon after landing at Prestwick Airport, President Trump greeted UK officials and addressed media, he then travelled to his Trump Turnberry golf resort in South Ayrshire. On his social media platform, TruthSocial, Trump wrote, “I’m in Scotland now. Many meetings planned.” He is scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday, 28 July 2025. The meeting will be their first since signing a trade deal last month on specific goods.
Speculation Mounts Over Melania’s No-Show
Melania Trump’s no-show did not go unnoticed, reports indicate the First Lady apparently decided not to show up, sparking speculation of an estranged marriage. Journalist Michael Wolff, author of several books on Donald Trump, said the pair live separate lives.
“They clearly do not in any way inhabit a marriage as we define marriage,” Wolff informed The Mirror, “they are separated” The United States President and the First Lady are apart,” he added.
A History-Making FLOTUS Nowhere to be Found
Melania Trump, born in Slovenia and a former model, became history’s first naturalized citizen to be First Lady when she took office in 2017, she reprised the role in 2025 following Trump’s re-election.
Her sparse public appearances, however, have drawn raised eyebrows, her ongoing absence, particularly on foreign trips such as this one to Scotland, further stokes public fascination and media speculation over the reality of their marriage.
