Tyler Robinson’s grandmother has come forward with a statement defending him, saying that she cannot believe her grandson is capable of murdering the conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Debbie Robinson, 69, of Washington, Utah, stated to The Daily Mail that she is ‘confused’ by the charges against her 22-year-old grandson. Tyler is the key suspect in the killing of Charlie Kirk during a Turning Point USA debate at Utah Valley University last week. She said, “Tyler is the shyest person. He has never, ever spoken politics to me at all.”
The officials stated that Tyler became more politically active recently, however, Debby insists that politics was never topic of conversation in the family. “Most of my family members are Republican. I don’t know any single one who’s a Democrat,” she said. The police has confirmed that Tyler’s father Matt, who is a major Trump supporter, turned his son in. Debbie stressed that Matt has not taken her calls since the arrest.

Ever since the arrest, Tyler is facing multiple charges related to Kirk’s shooting. Investigation is still undergoing.
Debbie is also doubtful that her grandson has anything to do with firearms or any experience handling them, despite being shown photographs of Tyler holding a .50 caliber machine gun.
“I don’t think he ever shot a gun, to tell you the truth,” she said. “He doesn’t hunt, he has never liked anything like that. I know he doesn’t own guns. There is just no way he could have been that good of a shot,’ she added.
She described Tyler as kind, calm, and quiet young man with no history of mental illness or problems with the law. “There is no way he could have done this,” Debbie urged stating that she knows her grandson well, and the opinion is not based upon family loyalty.
Debbie also expressed sympathy to the family and friends of Charlie Kirk, saying that she feels a ‘deep sadness’ for his wife after learning about the incident.
