Billionaire investor and the owner of the Carolina Panthers, David Tepper, who is well-known for his quick financial instincts and holding grudges, set an example in 2010 when he played the most intense power move to get back at his ex-boss. He purchases his mansion only to demolish it completely.
Tepper built his empire, Appaloosa Management, through his hedge fund. Prior to that, Tepper helped the firm regain momentum after the market crash in 1989. Despite his efforts, the then-CEO Jon Corzine passed him over for a promotion to partnership. This led Tepper to quit the organization and build his own fortune.

In 2010, he bought Corzine’s former summer home for $43.5 million through Corzine’s ex-wife. It was one of the priciest property sales in the area at that time.
Instead of moving into the 6,165 square-foot estate, he tore it down a year later and built a new luxury home, which was double the size of the original property. It featured 11,200 square feet, with mesmerizing ocean views, a pool, and a tennis court. The project took four years to complete and captured significant attention from beyond the real estate world.

Upon being asked if this was his ‘ultimate revenge’, Tepper said, “You could frame it that way. You could say there was a little justice in the world.”
This marks to be one of the greatest comebacks of Wall Street to date.
