An IndiGo pilot from Andhra Pradesh has gone viral for a touching tribute to his mother. Captain Jaswanth Varma made a special announcement during his flight, thanking his mother for helping him become a pilot.
In a video, Jaswanth is seen standing next to his mother at the plane’s entrance. He says, “Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. This is Jaswanth speaking.”
He tells passengers that it is the first time his mother is flying with him as a passenger. The cabin fills with cheers and claps. One passenger even gives his mother a standing ovation.
From a Small Village to the Sky
Jaswanth says he comes from a remote village near Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. For people from his area, becoming a pilot was almost impossible. But his mother made it happen.
She gave him emotional strength and also supported his education. Looking at her, he says, “It’s all because of you.”
He adds, “Because of her, I am standing here as a captain, flying a plane… living my life… my dream.”
He ends with the emotional words: “If you don’t exist, then I won’t as well.”
