Important Points Before Updating
Applications for the beta are open from October 9 to 13. The official launch of ColorOS 16 in China is scheduled for October 15, with the Oppo Find X9 being the first phone to run the new UI globally.
Before updating, users must ensure their phone runs one of these versions:
- CPH2737_15.0.2.602(EX01)
- CPH2737_15.0.2.502(EX01)
Also, charge your phone to at least 30% and make sure it has enough storage. Back up all personal data before installing the beta.
After installation, some devices may experience temporary heating, lag, or battery drainage. This is normal as the system optimizes performance. Users may also encounter app crashes or compatibility issues, which will be fixed in future updates.
What to Expect from ColorOS 16?
ColorOS 16 promises smoother animations and an improved multi-tasking experience. Early images shared on social media suggest major lock screen customizations, such as:
- Support for widgets
- Adding custom text
- A new Flux theme
The UI is also expected to bring AI enhancements and more home screen options, including resizable icons and expandable widgets. Other upgrades may include improved Always on Display features and new fingerprint animations.
Oppo Targets Personalization and Productivity
Oppo appears to focus on personalization and productivity with ColorOS 16. The enhanced AI features, custom widgets, and improved multitasking indicate a push to make daily phone use more intuitive. Users can expect a more dynamic and adaptable interface.
Industry experts believe Oppo’s early beta rollout in India is also a strategic move to gather user feedback and fine-tune the UI before the global launch. This approach could help Oppo compete with other brands in the premium Android segment.
