The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released its second list of 12 candidates for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The list includes singer Maithali Thakur, who will contest from the Alinagar constituency.

This new list came a day after the BJP announced its first list of 71 candidates. The first list included Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary from Tarapur and Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha from Lakhisarai.

Polling and Counting Dates

The Bihar Assembly polls will be held in two phases. Voting is scheduled for November 6 and November 11. The vote counting will take place on November 14.

The BJP is gearing up for the elections by announcing candidates in phases. The second list shows the party’s strategy to include popular personalities like Maithali Thakur to attract voters in key constituencies.

Election experts say including well-known public figures can help parties connect with younger voters and the cultural community.

BJP’s Campaign Moves Ahead

With the candidates announced, the BJP will now focus on campaigning across constituencies. The party aims to secure a majority in the 243-seat Bihar Assembly.

Maithali Thakur’s candidature has drawn attention due to her popularity as a singer. This could add energy to the BJP’s campaign in Alinagar and the surrounding areas.
