The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), under the Uttar Pradesh government, is swiftly progressing towards becoming a major centre for medical device manufacturing. The Medical Device Park being developed over 350 acres in Sector 28 of the YEIDA area has moved past the planning stage, with visible on-ground progress in investments, land allotments and construction activity.

More than 100 industrial plots have already been allotted under the project, and construction has commenced in around a dozen manufacturing units. Several of these units are expected to begin production in the near future, marking a key phase in the park’s development.

The Medical Device Park aligns with the Yogi Adityanath government’s objective of making Uttar Pradesh a preferred investment destination through strong policy support, robust infrastructure and enhanced investor confidence. In the years ahead, the park is expected to emerge as a significant hub for medical device manufacturing in the state.

Of the total project area, 188.15 acres have been designated for industrial use, within which 203 industrial plots of different sizes have been developed. So far, 101 plots have been allotted, reflecting steadily rising investor interest in the medical device sector within the YEIDA region.

As per a progress report issued by YEIDA, 85 investors have submitted their lease plans, while 62 lease deeds have already been executed. Additionally, 49 units have taken possession of their allotted land. Building plans for 23 units have received approval, and construction activity is currently underway in 12 units.

Officials said this pace of progress underscores the effectiveness of the state’s single-window clearance mechanism, time-bound approvals and consistent industrial policies.

YEIDA is developing the Medical Device Park as an integrated industrial ecosystem rather than a standalone cluster.

The master plan provides for warehouse facilities spread across 9.02 acres, green spaces covering 18.66 acres, a common facility zone of 46.43 acres, a commercial area spanning 4.84 acres, and parking and road infrastructure over 79.10 acres. This integrated layout is intended to ensure balanced development across manufacturing, logistics, environmental sustainability and workforce infrastructure.
