Two individuals went missing after heavy rain caused a cloudburst in Dehradun in the early hours of Tuesday, reducing houses to rubble and sweeping away cars and shops. The cloudburst took place late night and pushed the affected individuals to safer locations. Rescue and relief efforts are going on to locate the two missing individuals.
District Magistrate Savin Bansal, along with Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kumkum Joshi and other authorities, were immediately sent to the site on getting news of the accident to identify the extent of the damage. He instructed the rescue officials to conduct a search and rescue the two missing individuals at the earliest.
NDRF, SDRF, PWD and other authorities are functioning on war footing with bulldozers on site.
