In an amazing twist of fate, the animated mythological film Mahavatar Narasimha climbed up to the sixth position in the list of highest-grossing Hindi films of 2025. Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film outshone many other notable Bollywood releases like Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force and Salman Khan‘s Sikandar, with an impressive total collection of ₹168.75 crore across all languages.

An Incredible Box Office Journey

The film opened with modest collections, earning ₹1.35 crore on its first day. However, word-of-mouth publicity helped it pick up very well for the next several days.

It continued maintaining this pace and by August 11, 2025, Mahavatar Narasimha collected more than ₹126.15 crore from the Hindi markets alone, overtaking Sky Force’s ₹113.62 crore and Sikandar’s ₹110.36 crore.

International Success and Cultural Impact

Besides the domestic success, the film has significantly celebrated itself internationally as well. In North America, it has crossed the $1-million milestone, further reaching the heights of acceptance among the Indian diasporas.

This is thanks in no small part to worldwide values and high-class animations making it appealing to a broader audience.

Upcoming Competition

Currently, Mahavatar Narasimha enjoys a great success but is in for tough competition in the coming weeks. The two movies set for release are Coolie and War 2, which will be conflicting with Mahavatar Narasimha at the box office.

However, the excellent performance by the film so far at the box office has earned it the status of a blockbuster in Indian cinema.

Such marvelous nimbleness indeed testified that Mahavatar Narasimha was placing sixth among the best Hindi films that have grossed in 2025. The trend indicates a growing acceptance and quite a success of animated films within the Indian film industry. Mythology, a high-quality blend of animation and universal storytelling, sets a pretty bright mark for the future of animated projects in India.
