Ramgarh is considered as a crucial constituency in Bihar’s Kaimur district, a region where socialist politics and caste dynamics have traditionally dictated the electoral mood. The area is located 30 km from Bhabua and 15 km from Mohania. The place can be well accessed via main highways to Patna, Arrah and Buxar.

The Karmnasha River runs nearby, which supports farming, the main occupation of the people of the area. Though once a part of the Red Corridor, over the last ten years, Ramgarh has heralded remarkable development in terms of law and order ushering in development in what was otherwise considered a high-risk zone.
