Jhajha, a block-level town in Bihar’s Jamui district, lies close to the Jharkhand border. Not much is known about its history except that it was once an important railway station on the Howrah-Mughalsarai (now Deendayal Upadhyay junction) route during the British era. The Jhajha station, which once housed a large loco-shed for steam engines, lost prominence after the tracks were electrified. Today, Jhajha is better known for its biodiversity, scenic landscape, and rich flora and fauna. The town is flanked by the hills of Jharkhand on one side.
