Bhagalpur is the third-biggest city in Bihar, sits elegantly on the southern banks of the Ganga. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Congress candidate Ajeet Sharma had retained the seat, defeating BJP’s Rohit Pandey by a thin margin of 1,113 votes. The result could have gone in favour of BJP if the LJP had not put up its candidate, who polled more than 20,000 votes. With LJP back in the NDA fold, BJP is confident about turning the tables in 2025.
