A toll booth worker was critically injured after being struck by a speeding car on the Delhi-Lucknow Highway. The horrifying accident was captured by CCTV yesterday, June 6, at the Chhijarsi toll plaza in the Pilkhuwa Kotwali area.

The white car allegedly wanted to evade the poll fees and deliberately ran over the toll worker, identified as Hemraj, while en route from Ghaziabad to Hapur before fleeing from the scene.

Hemraj was hospitalised and is in a critical situation. The search has been initiated to find the absconding driver involved in the hit-and-run case.

A similar incident took place when an elderly man was hit by a speeding Audi in Sector 53, Noida. The victim was identified as Janak Dev, who succumbed to his injuries.

The Audi car immediately fled from the place after the collision. The incident was captured on CCTV.

“The deceased was identified as Janak Dev Shah, a resident of Gijhore in Sector 53. Shah is a retired employee from Akashwani,” said Vivek Kumar Shrivastava, station house officer, Sector 24.

“Shah was going to buy milk from a market near his home when the speeding car hit him from the front at an intersection near Kanchanjunga market at 6.30 am,” said SHO Shrivastava. CCTV footage shows the car hitting Shah with such speed that he was flung in the air.

Police said that a passerby called the emergency helpline number 112 and informed them about the accident, after which a police response vehicle (PRV) rushed to the scene and took Shah to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared dead.
