Srinagar, Dec 5: In a significant breakthrough, security forces apprehended two terror associates and seized a cache of arms and ammunition, including two AK-47 rifles, during a checkpoint operation in the Lower Munda area of Qazigund, South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
An official spokesperson revealed that the arrests were made during a routine naka checking at Gulab Bagh near Lower Munda. The operation resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, four magazines, and a substantial number of live rounds, thwarting potential terror activities in the region.
The detained individuals have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Rashid Bhat, a resident of Nipora, and Altaf Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Ahad Lone, hailing from Teesan Kachpora Zadoora.
According to authorities, a case has been registered, and an extensive investigation is underway to uncover the duo’s connections and their role in terror-related activities. Officials are also probing the source of the recovered weapons and any links to active terror modules operating in the region.
This successful operation underscores the relentless efforts of security forces to curb the presence of terror associates and dismantle their networks in Jammu and Kashmir. Following the arrest of the two OGWs, forces are expecting major revelations that could further expose terror conspiracies and lead to the identification of key operatives in the Valley.
