Veteran Canadian journalist Terry Milewski has strongly criticized Canada’s handling of the Khalistan separatist issue, describing it as “hypocritical” and a “national disgrace.” Speaking to ANI, Milewski highlighted Canada’s failure to take a firm stand against the Khalistani menace over the past four decades.
Referring to the recent attack on the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Milewski condemned the act, attributing it to Canada’s leniency towards Khalistani elements. “This open aggression by Khalistanis against Hindu temples is extremely disturbing,” he said, adding that Canadian politicians’ inaction has fueled such incidents.
Milewski also dismissed rumors about the blocking of the Australia Today website. “It has never been blocked or censored,” he clarified. He attributed the access issue to a commercial dispute between Facebook and Canadian regulators over content creator payments.
Shifting focus to international relations, Milewski discussed the potential impact of Donald Trump’s re-election on India-Canada ties. He noted Trump’s strong rapport with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which could positively influence bilateral relations despite ongoing diplomatic tensions.
India and Canada’s diplomatic ties have soured in recent months, particularly after Canada accused India of involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun—an allegation New Delhi has vehemently denied.
Milewski’s remarks come at a time when Canada faces mounting pressure to address Khalistani extremism, with the spotlight firmly on its foreign and domestic policies.
