Long queues were observed outside polling stations across towns and rural areas in Telangana since the early hours of the day. Earlier, at 1 p.m., the total voter turnout in the state was recorded at 36.68%. The elections feature 2,290 contestants, including Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Minister-son K.T. Rama Rao, State Congress President A Revanth Reddy, BJP Lok Sabha members Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and D Arvind. In the 2018 elections, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won 88 of the 119 seats with a vote share of 47.4%, while the Congress secured 19 seats. The counting of votes is scheduled for December 3.
Prominent leaders, including Chief Minister KCR, state minister KT Rama Rao, YSR Telangana Party president YS Sharmila, BJP’s Arvind Dharmapuri, and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, have exercised their franchise, urging voters to participate in the electoral process.
