Sustainable travel, also known as ecotourism, is a growing trend in the travel industry. It involves making conscious decisions to minimize the negative impact of tourism on the environment and local communities.
This can be achieved through various means, such as choosing eco-friendly accommodations, participating in responsible activities, and supporting local economies.
For recent vacation in Jim Corbett, I stayed at the Taj Corbett Resort and Spa, a resort that embodies the principles of sustainable travel in several ways. By integrating the resort into the natural landscape, they minimize disruption to the local ecosystem. This is a key aspect of green architecture, which aims to create harmony between human habitation and the natural world.
Their eco-friendly activities, such as the Green Bird Trail, Nature Walk, Organic Farming, Plantations, and Bird Watching not only provide guests with unique experiences but also educate them about the importance of conservation.
These activities promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world, encouraging guests to make more sustainable choices in their own lives.
What also deserves a mention is how they use renewable energy sources and waste management systems in order to reduce the environmental footprint.
By choosing to stay here, I supported and did my bit towards sustainability and green tourism.
Green and Sustainable travel is about making choices that respect and protect the natural and cultural environment. It’s about enjoying and appreciating the beauty of our planet, while also ensuring that future generations can do the same. This voyage offered me a travel experience that was not only luxurious but also sustainable.
