A suspect in the stabbing rampage in Solingen, Germany, which resulted in three deaths, has been taken into police custody. The arrest came approximately 24 hours after the attack. North Rhine-Westphalia’s interior minister, Herbert Reul, confirmed to ARD broadcaster that authorities followed a “hot lead” leading to the suspect’s apprehension.
Throughout the day, police conducted an extensive manhunt and made two other arrests, though these individuals are not believed to be connected to the attack.
The Islamic State took responsibility of the attack.
