Seat scramble: Congress faces tough choices in Pali District

Pali district has seen a long queue of contenders in Congress for the 6 legislative assembly seats. With 238 contenders applying for the seats, it is becoming increasingly challenging for the Congress party to choose its candidates. Among these, the Sumerpur seat had the highest number of applicants. In the previous election, Congress lost to Bina Kak in Sumerpur, and the party has faced continuous defeats for the past 10 years.
The Congress party in Pali district is deeply concerned about this situation, and after receiving such a high number of applications, discussions are underway within the party to find a solution.
Candidates from the Sumerpur constituency have also applied, including former minister Bina Kak, former MP Badriram Jakhar, former chief Harishankar Mevada, Congress leader Shishupal Singh Nimbara, Jagdish Rajpurohit, Sumer Singh Manwar, and 32 others.
