Ram Kit: The Rs 7 Golden Dose That Could Prevent Heart Attacks

The Ram Kit, developed by the Laxmipat Singhania Institute of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kanpur, is being hailed as a potential lifesaver in the event of a heart attack.

Dr. S. K. Pandey, director of the Cantonment Hospital in Prayagraj, highlighted that the Ram Kit could significantly reduce the risk to life in such emergencies. “It will offer immediate relief to anyone suffering from heart ailments,” said Dr. Pandey, noting that this emergency kit could be particularly vital during the winter, when heart disease and stroke cases rise.

Cost of ‘Ram Kit’

The Ram Kit, which costs just Rs 7, was named after Lord Ram, as the name carries a sense of faith and belief. Dr. Neeraj Kumar, a senior cardiologist at the Institute, explained the reasoning behind the name, saying, “Everyone believes in Lord Ram’s name, and these medications have the potential to save lives by thinning blood, opening vein blockages, and providing heart patients with rapid relief.”

Ram Kit Includes…

This emergency pack, which includes three crucial medications, is designed to offer immediate relief to heart attack victims before they reach the hospital. The kit contains Ecosprin (a blood thinner), Rosuvastatin (for cholesterol control), and Sorbitrate (for improved heart function). These medications are known to help reduce life-threatening risks associated with heart attacks and chest pain.

The kit also includes the contact information for medical professionals and a picture of the Ram temple, emphasizing its spiritual connection and its critical role in life-saving efforts. As part of its initial distribution, the Cantonment Hospital in Prayagraj will be the first to distribute 5,000 Ram Kits to households in Sangam City, beginning January 13.

While the Ram Kit provides critical first-response care, doctors, including Dr. Pandey, have stressed that it should not replace a visit to the hospital. “The kit’s purpose is to provide a crucial moment for medical professionals to act and save lives,” he said. He advised patients experiencing chest pain to take the medication and immediately proceed to the nearest hospital for further treatment.

Dr. Kumar also emphasized that the kit’s medications could make a significant difference in survival chances, adding, “Without these medications, patients may not survive the journey to the hospital.”

In addition to being a practical response to heart emergencies, the Ram Kit symbolizes a blend of tradition, medical science, and faith, offering hope in critical moments for those in need of urgent heart care.
