Delhi BJP leaders, including Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva and party MP Tejasvi Surya, staged a protest on Wednesday against Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, in response to his remarks about Hindus during his speech in the Lok Sabha.

During the protest, Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj criticized Rahul Gandhi, stating, “Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi deliberately made an irresponsible statement. He should apologize for his statement. He made the statement to encourage appeasement politics for political gain. When he sees vote bank politics, he goes on a temple run. But when he gives a speech in Parliament, his anti-Hindu and anti-Sanatan (Sanatan Dharma) mentality becomes visible.”

In his first speech as Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha on July 1, during the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP.

He said, “those who call themselves Hindus indulge in hate and violence round the clock,” which prompted a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi accused Gandhi of insulting Hindus by labeling them as violent and stressed that it was a serious matter to generalize the entire Hindu community in such a manner.

Rahul Gandhi responded by clarifying, “Narendra Modi is not the entire Hindu community, the BJP is not the entire Hindu community, and the RSS is not the entire Hindu community.”
