On Friday, Pune city police confirmed that they have questioned National Congress Party (NCP) MLA Sunil Tingre in connection with the Porsche car accident case.
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated, “Yes, we have inquired about everyone directly or indirectly involved in the Porsche car case, including MLA Sunil Tingre.”
The incident occurred on May 19, when a 17-year-old driving a luxury Porsche crashed into a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two young riders in Kalyaninagar. Following the accident, there were allegations that MLA Tingre attempted to intervene at the police station to protect the juvenile driver and used his political influence to sway the investigation.
MLA Tingre has denied these allegations.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar recently mentioned in a public speech that Tingre was questioned by the police for three to four hours. Pawar asserted that Tingre had clarified his lack of involvement in the case and criticized those attempting to implicate him unfairly.
