In Pune, Maharashtra, a man orchestrated a clever prank by impersonating popular Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh. Simarjeet Singh, a fitness trainer, dressed in a checked shirt, black trousers, an orange turban, and sunglasses, attempted to fool the public. His face was partially covered with a black handkerchief as he walked along FC Road with a group of bodyguards.
The stunt successfully tricked many passers-by, with some staring in disbelief, while others eagerly approached him for photos. One onlooker was heard saying, “Diljit Paji ek photo (Diljit, one photo please).”

Singh shared a video of the prank on Instagram, where social media users had varied responses. Some were amused, with comments like, “Scam 2024” and “Sasta Diljeet,” while others expressed disbelief at how easily people were fooled, with one user writing, “And people actually believed you were Diljit Dosanjh.” A few also gave credit to those who didn’t fall for the ruse, with one commenting, “Respect to those who ignored him.”
In a separate event, Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Ahmedabad took an unexpected turn when he paused mid-performance to address fans who were watching from a hotel balcony. Noticing the crowd without tickets, Diljit playfully commented, “Yeh jo hotel ki balcony mein baithe hai, aap ka toh bara accha bhi hoya. Yeh hotel waale game kar gaye.” He added, “Those who are sitting in the hotel balcony, this is good for you. The hotel really played a smart game!” The camera then panned to reveal a group of fans enjoying the concert from the hotel, much to the amusement of the singer. After the playful exchange, Diljit resumed his performance, throwing a few gestures at the “balcony gang.”
