Hindu and Sikh activists gathered outside the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi on Sunday, protesting the recent attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada, by a pro-Khalistan group. The protest followed calls from various Hindu organizations, leading to increased security in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic area. Delhi Police deployed numerous personnel and set up multiple barricades to prevent unrest.

During the demonstration, members of the Hindu Sikh Global Forum attempted to climb over the barricades, toppling them, while chanting slogans and holding placards reading “Hindus and Sikhs are united” and “Indians will not tolerate the insult of temples in Canada.”

Watch:

This protest followed an attack on the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Canada, by Khalistani supporters on November 4. The incident, which occurred during a consular camp, led to widespread condemnation, including remarks from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who condemned the “deliberate attack” and “cowardly attempts to intimidate” Indian diplomats.

The attack sparked further protests outside the Brampton temple and in Mississauga. In the aftermath, Canadian police suspended officer Harinder Sohi for participating in a pro-Khalistan protest that included anti-India slogans. Canadian authorities have arrested four individuals related to the violence, including Inderjeet Gosal, a key figure in the banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) organization. Gosal, associated with the late Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, faces charges of assault with a weapon.
