On Friday, demonstrations were scheduled in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) districts of Bagh and Hajira to commemorate the Bangladesh War of Independence, which resulted in the creation of East Pakistan.

The protestors made comparisons between the predicament of East Pakistan at the time and the current state of the POK under the Punjabi Pakistani regime. New appeals from Islamabad for “Haquqi Azadi” (genuine freedom) sparked anti-Islamabad chants.
