Prime Minister Modi addressed the Ram Mandir construction, highlighting Iqbal Ansari, a key figure in the legal battle, who prominently displayed a placard reading ‘Modi ka Parivaar’. Ansari‘s active involvement in the Ram Mandir inauguration event signifies the minority community’s connection to PM Modi’s policies and welfare initiatives.
PM Modi confronted opposition claims stating that the Congress party, which held power for decades, could have facilitated the construction of Ram Mandir soon after Independence. However, he mentioned that political motives hindered this process, fearing it would impact their vote bank.
PM Modi emphasized, “Ram Mandir should have been built right after Independence. In all these years, it wasn’t built because they (Congress) felt it would affect their vote bank.” He highlighted the efforts made in courts to obstruct the construction. Despite this, when the Supreme Court’s judgment allowed for the establishment of a trust, its members, despite past differences, extended invitations to Congress Party members for the consecration ceremony, which were declined.
He further noted that despite his lifelong involvement in the Babri Masjid case, Iqbal Ansari respected the Supreme Court’s verdict and attended the ‘Shilanyas’ and ‘Pran Prathistha’ ceremonies. This, according to PM Modi, illustrates Ansari’s stance on the matter.
