A 30-year-old man lost his life, and two others sustained injuries when an unidentified speeding vehicle struck them as they walked near Dronacharya Metro Station on Saturday morning, according to the police.
The deceased has been identified as Bhola, while the two injured individuals are Deepak from Rajender Park and Shyamlal from Sukhali village.
The three pedestrians were reportedly struck by a taxi with a Delhi registration number while it was traveling from the city towards Delhi at approximately 8:30 am on Saturday, as per the police.
After the incident, the accused promptly fled the scene in their vehicle. All three victims sustained significant injuries to their heads, arms, and legs. Bystanders rushed them to Neelkanth Hospital in DLF, where Bhola succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
After Bhola succumbed to his injuries, his body was sent to the district mortuary for an autopsy and his family were called to identify him. His sister Kishori, who lived with Bhola in Nathupur, later filed a police complaint in the matter at the DLF Phase 1 police station on Sunday .
Suneel Kumar, SHO of DLF Phase 1 police station, said, “We haven’t identified the accused yet, but strict actions will be taken against them. We have recorded the victims’ statements and are checking nearby cameras to trace any clues.”
