Often artists are seen struggling to sell their artwork. While some artists manage to get recognition for their work others find very difficult to survive. After the pandemic many artists lost their jobs and struggling even now for existence. ‘Oxygen Art Guild’ provides a unique platform to these struggling artists who have the skill but do not have the means to survive.
Oxygen Art Guild is a group of multidisciplinary individuals who are passionate about their art. It was started with the goal of championing, developing and showcasing the work of outstanding emerging and mid-career artists. It uses a combination of technology and traditional expertise to help those seeking high quality art for any setting.
Art has always flourished in places and times whenever it has found a patron. In modern times very few section of society can afford to spend money on artworks. The reason being that there are very few patrons left and very few artworks which sell. With the vision to provide inspiration to struggling artists Oxygen Art Guild is set to exhibit ‘Colours of convergence’ curated by Kiran Kethline Mohan on 4th to 9th November 2022, at Museo Camera Centre for the Photographic Arts. Works of many renowned artists such as Anil Goswami, Aniruddha Mukherjee, Apurba Karati and many more are going to be displayed.
In a candid conversation artist Aniruddha Mukherjee says, “Art is something close to a dream, as it manifests and takes over our present reality. In dreams we often get intrigued by the sequence of image and sound and everything looks so real, placed in a different space and time. It recreates a parallel reality around us. Knowing very well that it’s very much temporal. Art similarly can create a parallel reality, with its myriad forms, colours, lines, textures and has an ability to build illusion. Art impels us to believe in a different truth, which has its own rules and logic. So it’s experiencing reality through illusion.”
