New Delhi:
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant has assured the country’s youth that the Supreme Court will hear every genuine grievance.
Speaking exclusively to iTV Network, CJI assures citizens, especially the youth, that the Court will make every effort to ensure justice wherever warranted.
He also said the judiciary remains committed to helping people and addressing their problems through the legal process.
The CJI said If any injustice has been caused to any person, the Supreme Court will hear the grievance within the bounds of law and make every effort to ensure justice
Earlier on Friday, the CJI also assured lawyers that the Supreme Court would hear petitions relating to the alleged police action against students protesting over the NEET paper leak. The matter was mentioned before a Bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana. Senior Advocates Shyam Divan and Gopal Sankaranarayanan requested an urgent hearing, stating that the petitions had already been filed and numbered by the Supreme Court Registry. The CJI indicated that the matter could be listed for hearing on Monday, July 27.
During the morning proceedings on Friday, Chief Justice Surya Kant also criticised media reports claiming that he had refused to list a matter concerning the alleged police excesses during the CJP protest. Calling such reports “reckless reporting,” the CJI clarified in open court that no writ petition had been filed before the Supreme Court at that stage.
Meanwhile, another Bench of the Supreme Court hearing the NEET paper leak case said it would closely monitor the Centre’s efforts to reform the examination system. The Court stressed that long-term institutional reforms were necessary to prevent future paper leaks and ensure transparency and fairness in public examinations
