One of the most beloved superstars in Andhra Pradesh, Nagarjuna, is not inclined to overlook Telangana minister Konda Surekha’s offensive remarks regarding his son Naga Chaitanya’s divorce from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
In her attempt to score electoral points, the minister accused her opponent, K T Rama Rao, of playing a significant role in the separation of Naga and Samantha. This allegation has sparked significant backlash from the film industry.
In an exclusive conversation with Zoom, Naga stated he was preparing for a major legal battle against Konda Surekha. “I am in Vizag. I am heading back to Hyderabad for action ahead,” he said, adding that he preferred not to be quoted on the matter at this moment.
When asked about the possibility of legal action, he affirmed, “Oh, absolutely! A hundred percent. We can’t let this go. Not at all. I am rushing back with lawyers. I will keep you informed.”
A source close to Nagarjuna emphasized, “This culture of politicians using celebrity names to get attention must stop. The entire Telugu industry has come forward in support of Nag and his family, not only to stop this slanderous trend but also because Nag commands tremendous love and respect in the Telugu film industry.”
It is anticipated that other top actors, actresses, and directors will join Nagarjuna in opposing the intrusion of politicians into the lives of celebrities for electoral gain.
For those unfamiliar with the controversy, Konda Surekha made shocking statements to the media, claiming, “It is KT Rama Rao because of whom (actress) Samantha’s divorce happened…He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of the actresses and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them…He used to make them drug addicts and then do this…Everyone knows this, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family, everybody is aware that such a thing happened.”
In response, Samantha, Naga, and others from the Akkineni family have expressed strong opposition to these comments.
