Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened his newly appointed Cabinet ministers on Monday evening, laying down directives for their conduct and work ethic. Emphasizing the importance of discretion, Modi advised ministers to speak only when necessary and to refrain from unnecessary commentary. He also cautioned against delivering sermons, urging ministers to avoid verbose lectures.

In addition to exercising restraint in communication, Modi stressed the significance of punctuality, encouraging ministers to arrive promptly at their ministries.
“Reaching the Ministry on time also has a positive effect on the office staff,” said the Prime minister sources mentioned.
Highlighting the importance of collaboration, he instructed senior ministers to involve their Minister of State (MoS) counterparts in decision-making processes and to ensure their active participation.

The meeting marked the unveiling of the portfolios assigned to ministers in Modi’s third consecutive term as prime minister. Key figures like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar retained their respective ministries. The allocation included 30 Cabinet Ministers, five Ministers of State (MoS) with Independent charge, and 36 Ministers of State (MoS).
Modi’s guidance underscores the emphasis on discipline and efficiency within the government, setting the tone for the functioning of his new Cabinet.
