In the individual 10m air pistol event, Bhaker showcased exceptional skill and composure, securing a bronze medal and becoming the first female shooter from India to stand on the Olympic podium.

Remarkable Achievements

Manu Bhaker’s contributions to India’s medal tally didn’t stop there. She partnered with Sarabjot Singh to secure a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. An official from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) confirmed, “Yes, Manu has been chosen to be the flag bearer. She has done exceptionally well and deserves the honour.” Bhaker expressed her gratitude, stating it would be a real honor to represent her country in such a prestigious role.

In addition to Bhaker’s successes, fellow shooter Swapnil Kushale clinched India’s third medal at the Games, earning a bronze in the men’s 50m Rifle Three Positions.
