Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav recently underwent kidney transplant surgery in Singapore. His daughter Misa Bharti on Tuesday extended gratitude to the masses for their wishes on the behalf of her father.
She tweeted in Hindi, “Your prayers boosted my father’s morale and made him feel better today! Papa has said Thankyou to all of you.”
She also shared a video where Lalu Yadav could be heard saying, “Aap logo ne sab dua kiya, acha feel kar rahe hain hum, acha feel kar rahe hain hum (You all prayed, I am feeling better).”
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav tweeted, “After the successful operation of my father’s kidney transplant, he was shifted from the operation theatre to ICU. Donor elder sister Rohini Acharya and the party national president are both healthy. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes.”
Notably, Rohini Acharya, Lalu Yadav’s daughter, donated a kidney to him.
Acharya said on Twitter prior to the transplant, “geared up and ready to go. Please send me luck.”
The family decided to proceed with the procedure after Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, notified them earlier in November that his sister Rohini’s kidney was the best match.
“The doctors wanted a family member to give my father a kidney. The greatest match was my sister Rohini’s kidney, thus we went ahead with operation “In Patna, Tejashwi told reporters.
Lalu, 74, had been given the recommendation to have a kidney transplant after experiencing acute kidney issues for some time.
Rohini, his daughter, volunteered to be his donor. She insisted, thus the family made this decision.
