Uttar Pradesh: Following the resplendent celebration of Dev Diwali in Varanasi, where the city’s ghats glimmered with 12 lakh earthen lamps, the swift and thorough cleaning by the city administration overnight has left a profound impact. The impeccable cleanliness of the ghats the next morning testified to the city’s commitment to preserving its spiritual sanctity and ensuring a welcoming ambiance for devotees.

A devotee at Varanasi’s Ghat expressed similar sentiments, saying, “Last night, as we witnessed Dev Diwali and the lighting of around 12 lakh diyas, the cleanliness of the ghats this morning was truly impressive,” reported ANI.

The celebrations were inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who lit the first lamp, marking the commencement of a grand event attended by citizens, ambassadors, and envoys from 70 countries, along with 150 delegates and their families. This collective participation showcased the splendor of Kashi during the festival, featuring the government’s contribution of 12 lakh lamps, including those made from cow dung, which added to the enchanting spectacle of light.

This year’s Dev Diwali received’state fair’ status from the Yogi government, elevating its significance on the global stage. Diplomats from various nations marveled at this extraordinary spectacle, fostering a sense of pride and spreading the aura of the festival worldwide.
