About Chandu Champion

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film titled “The Man Who Refused to Surrender” promises to captivate and inspire audiences with its biographical sports drama. Kartik Aaryan portrays Murlikant Petkar, showcasing his remarkable journey from war hero to sporting legend.

The film highlights Petkar’s transformation from paralysis to achieving a world record in the 50-meter freestyle at the 1972 Summer Paralympics, while also competing in javelin and other events despite severe injuries from the 1965 Indo-Pak war. Honored with the Padma Shri in 2018, Petkar’s life, marked by numerous international, national, and state-level gold medals, stands as a testament to the strength of the human spirit.
