On Thursday, State Government’s PHE Minister Kanhaiyalal Chaudhary commented on the ongoing CBI investigation into the Rs 900 crore scam in the Jal Jeevan Mission, stating that the manner in which the Enforcement Directorate took action in this case, due to the non-cooperative behavior of the Gehlot government, the Bhajan Lal government had to conduct a CBI investigation.
Raising questions about the role of Mahesh Joshi, who was the Water Resources Minister in the Gehlot government, Kanhaiyalal Chaudhary said that Mahesh Joshi’s involvement is evident to everyone, as he remained silent and allowed collusion between officials and contractors. He stated that the CBI will definitely interrogate him, he has facts, and the whole truth will come out. If there are other big officials of the Gehlot government, they will also be investigated.
The Water Resources Minister said that it is not just about the Jal Jeevan Mission, but there was also a big game played in the previous government under the guise of transfer postings. We are also investigating that. If the J&J M scandal had not happened, the mission work in Rajasthan would have been completed. He said that only 45 percent of the work has been done so far, we have been given a one-year extension, and it will be completed in one year.
Regarding Amit Shah’s statement on the mission in the state, Kanhaiyalal Chaudhary said that the BJP has fought the election with full force. They are our big leaders, they may have some input, but we hope that the mission in Rajasthan will see progress, and Modi will return to power at the Center for the 25th time.
