The Quintessence Of Grit And Champion Of Courage – IPS DINESH MN

Munaganahalli Narayanaswamy Dinesh, an Indian Police Service officer who currently serving as Additional Director General of Police – Crime (ADG CRIME).

An epitome of resilience, steadfastness, courage and chivalry, MN Dinesh has all that anyone can and should look up to. A perfect example of strength and courage, he has proved that whatever situation a person is into, it is his choice to be happy or sad. With a record of putting the most notorious criminals behind the bars, he himself has experienced the brutality of life. After spending a span of seven years in jail in a case he came out wiser, brighter and with determination to deal with criminals their way. A Youth Icon and an exemplary he has tasted the life the way it is. Down to Earth, humble, simple his clarity helped him and many others around him to carve their own path and reach their goal.
He believes that with Consistency, discipline, and planning a person can achieve anything that might seem impossible. He adds that with positivity, hope and belief a person should work and not think about the outcome.

Every successful person has his own way of looking at success and achieving it. When asked to him he said achieving a goal is an event, instead “ONE SHOULD HAVE A SUCCESS MENTALITY.”

For him Success mentality is:
NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE. CONSTITUTE A PLAN OF ACTION, TO BE HAPPY AND THE ABILTIY TO LIVE IN THE MOMENT.

He said life is a series of ups and downs so one should be prepared to face it as it comes. He believes that if a person lands into a problem the first step is to accept it. Then do what he is supposed to do. A strategy he advises to deal with any crisis is, to “have hope and think positive.” He adds that “however fractured your life be you have to live with it. So what makes life worth living is the way you live it.”

Dinesh MN has achieved a position which is not a cake walk. Cracking Civil Services and becoming being positioned as an IPS officer is dream pf many youngsters in the country. But not are able to make it. According to him nothing is Impossible and if a person knows what he wants in life. One should have an ‘ACTION PLAN’ and continue to stick to it without thinking of the result.

When a person in his opinion does not get digressed by any event or situation he should think of why he started doing something in first place and then keep moving in the direction of his vision. He believes in living one day at a time. This is what he suggests to the youngsters also. He says that we should be able to bifurcate our 24 hours in a way that time can be given tour physical health, mental health our goals and eventually to ourselves.

One component that always keeps us going is ‘THE POWER OF BELIEF’. He says that the darkest hour comes just before the dawn. Sharing the experience of the time when he was imprisoned he said that, “Being cynical, frustrated or negative, doesn’t let us out of any situation. So one should have faith in oneself.”

HOPE ABOUT FUTURE
IPS Dinesh believes that fear of future doesn’t take you anywhere. He has a practical approach towards life. He says that when you are apprehensive and keep thinking about what is going to happen every moment so such thinking can batter normal life also. So one should do whatever one can in the present moment. Having the best of life and not having hope can take all happiness away. So we should always live in the moment and do what is required to be done.

YOUR BODY IS YOUR FIRST ADDRESS
IPS Dinesh says that we should take care of our body, so that body can take care of us. Physical fitness can play a crucial role in helping you navigate tough times. It helps in various ways:

  • Stress Reduction: Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. Engaging in physical activity can reduce stress levels and improve your overall emotional state, making it easier to handle challenging situations.

INVEST IN YOURSELF
IPS Dinesh MN says that we should keep our Focus on. We should be able to understand and build understanding to let go of whatever we can’t control. So we should do what is helpful for us and take care of what is our hands.

He suggests that making plan of action is in our control, but outcome is not. So focus on doing what you are supposed to do and move on. Trying to control the result will give nothing but feeling of discomfort and restlessness.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Failure forces you to confront challenges and find solutions. It encourages creativity and problem-solving as you seek new ways to approach obstacles.

  • Self-Discovery: Failure can be a path to greater self-discovery. It often reveals strengths, weaknesses, and passions you might not have been aware of before, guiding you toward more authentic pursuits.

In essence, while failure can be challenging and disheartening, it also offers profound opportunities for growth and learning, shaping you into a more resilient and insightful individual and this is what we all need to learn in our journey called life.
