Jaggi Vasudev, widely known as Sadhguru, is a renowned spiritual leader and the founder of the Isha Foundation. Established in 1992, the foundation runs an ashram and yoga center focused on promoting spiritual well-being and education. Sadhguru is also a best-selling author, known for books such as Inner Engineering: A Yogi’s Guide to Joy and Karma: A Yogi’s Guide to Crafting Your Destiny.
In addition to his spiritual teachings, Sadhguru is widely recognized for his environmental initiatives, such as Rally for Rivers, Cauvery Calling, and Project GreenHands (PGH). His work in promoting sustainability alongside spirituality earned him the prestigious Padma Vibhushan in 2017, honoring his contributions to both spiritual growth and humanitarian efforts.
Born as Jagadish Vasudev into a Telugu family, Sadhguru was the youngest of five children to B.V. Vasudev, a respected ophthalmologist at Mysuru Railway Hospital, and Susheela Vasudev. His father played a significant role in shaping his upbringing. In 1984, Sadhguru married Vijikumari, and the couple had a daughter together. Sadly, his wife passed away in 1997. Their daughter, Radhe, went on to marry Indian classical vocalist Sandeep Narayan in 2014.
Sadhguru studied English literature at the University of Mysore before briefly venturing into poultry farming. Although the business initially flourished, spiritual experiences prompted him to shut it down and shift to the construction industry with Buildaids. His true path into yoga and spiritual teaching began in 1983 when he conducted his first yoga class in Mysore.

In addition to his spiritual pursuits, Sadhguru has a strong passion for luxury automobiles, showcasing the diverse facets of his personality and interests.
During his involvement in the Rally for Rivers initiative, Sadhguru was seen driving his striking Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, valued at Rs 2.44 crore. This high-performance SUV is equipped with a 5461cc V8 twin-turbo petrol engine, delivering 551hp and 760Nm of torque.
Sadhguru, known for his diverse interests, is also a track enthusiast. He has been spotted driving a Toyota Scion with an impressive 1000hp, highlighting his love for high-performance cars.
Sadhguru owns a BMW K 1600 GT, priced at Rs 29.98 lakh, renowned for its powerful 1.6-litre six-cylinder engine. He’s also been spotted riding the Ducati Multistrada 1260, a versatile Italian motorcycle equipped with advanced features like semi-active suspension and a quick shifter, valued at Rs 21.42 lakh.
Sadhguru takes pleasure in riding the Rs 10.89 lakh Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, reflecting his adventurous spirit and passion for distinctive biking experiences.
“Sadhguru used many of these cars and bikes during his purpose-driven journeys. He hasn’t bought them,” a spokesperson from The Isha Foundation told us.
Established in 1994 near the Velliangiri Mountains in Coimbatore, the Isha Yoga Centre is Sadhguru’s main focus and source of income. The foundation has attracted substantial support from various funding sources, facilitating its ongoing growth and influence.
Renowned for his sporty yet sophisticated style, Sadhguru has been spotted wearing a vintage Victorinox Swiss Army Cavalry watch and a Swiss-made Cartier Pasha Seatimer, both gifts that symbolize his stature and influence. His work inspires millions, including celebrities such as R Madhavan, Ajay Devgn, Kangana Ranaut, Will Smith, and Juhi Chawla, who connect with his teachings and initiatives. As he continues to engage in discussions on spirituality and sustainability, Sadhguru remains a compelling figure, bridging ancient wisdom with modern challenges.
