The Indian community living in Russia made a request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of Russia’s visit this July.
The Hindus staying in Russia want to construct a first Hindu temple in Moscow. This request was kept by Indian Business Alliance and Indian cultural & National centre president Sita, Sammy Kotwani.
Kotwani asserted, the Hindu temple will not just serve as a centre of unity and attraction point for Indian culture, it will serve as evidence of connection between Indians.
In addition, the temple will boost the influx of Indian tourists to the country. Meanwhile, Russia has witnessed a gradual growth of Hindu religion, which appeared in the country around late 1900s.
Inspired by Indian culture, many Russian couples are increasingly getting married in India as per Hindu customs. Just previous year, a Russian couple got married in Haridwar.
PM Modi is set to visit Russia as a part of state visit from July 8 to 9 to meet President Vladimir Putin. In the course of the visit, they will focus on the enhancement of strategic, economic and military ties.
