Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, a self-styled godman and director of a private engineering institute in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj, has been booked for allegedly molesting several female students. Popularly known as Parth Sarthy, he is accused of sexually harassing 17 women pursuing management diploma courses under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scholarship. Delhi Police said he is currently on the run and was last traced near Agra.
Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Parth Sarthy, is a self-styled godman. He was the director of a private engineering and management institute in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj. He presented himself as a spiritual guru while managing the institute, which was linked to a well-known ashram.
Allegations Against Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati
Chaitanyananda Saraswati is accused of sexually harassing female students. The victims include those studying management diploma courses under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scholarship.
A total of 17 students alleged that he used abusive language, sent obscene WhatsApp and SMS messages, and made unwanted physical contact. Some women faculty and administrative staff were also accused of pressuring the students to follow his demands.
Police Investigation So Far
Delhi Police registered a case after receiving a complaint on August 4 at the Vasant Kunj North police station. Statements of 32 female students were recorded, out of which 17 confirmed harassment. Police said, “During the enquiry, statements of 32 female students were recorded, out of which 17 alleged abusive language, obscene WhatsApp/SMS messages, and unwanted physical contact by the accused.”
Police have conducted raids at his known addresses and at the institute where he works. CCTV footage is under review. The accused was last traced near Agra but has been changing locations to avoid arrest.
Volvo Car With Fake UN Number Plate
During the investigation, police found a red Volvo luxury car in the basement of the institution. The vehicle had a fake United Nations number plate (39 UN 1). Officials confirmed that the number was fabricated and not issued by the UN.
Ashram Cuts Ties With Him
The Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam Dakshinamnaya of Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, has cut all ties with Chaitanyananda Saraswati.
In its statement, the Peetham said, “Chaitanyananda Saraswati, formerly known as Dr. Parthasarathy, has engaged in activities that are illegal, inappropriate, and detrimental to the interests of Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham. Sringeri (Peetham). As a result, the Peetham has severed all ties with him.”
Previous Allegations
Reports show that this is not the first time he has faced accusations. He was booked in molestation cases earlier in 2006 and 2016. This indicates a repeated pattern of misconduct.
The self-styled godman remains absconding. Delhi Police teams are continuing raids to locate him and bring him to justice.
