In a shocking incident from South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar, it has come to light how small neighbourhood disputes can result in tragic crimes.
A 27-year-old Delhi University law student was allegedly stabbed to death after a heated quarrel with his relatives on Friday morning.
The victim, identified as Md Irshad, had recently begun building his future by joining Delhi University’s respected Campus Law Centre as a first-year LLB student.
His journey, which showed great promise, was brought to an abrupt end due to a conflict over a minor issue.
When and How the Incident Happened
The incident took place around 11.30 am on Friday, according to police officials. The police received a PCR call from Sangam Vihar after which the team reached the spot to find Irshad critically injured with multiple stab wounds.
He was immediately taken to Majidia Maqbool Memorial (MMM) Hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Eyewitness to the Crime
The prime eyewitness in the case was Irshad’s sister, who witnessed the attack. She informed the police that the attackers were their relatives-uncle Mubarak, 50; aunt Rihana Khatoon, 47; their son Ishtiyaq, 26; and a 15-year-old minor boy, all residing in the same locality and involved in a long-standing family disagreement.

Reason behind the Murder
The police said that CCTV footage and preliminary inquiry show that a quarrel broke out earlier between Irshad and the accused family members. What had started as a petty dispute over cleaning the surrounding area escalated fast, leading to the violent and fatal assault.
