India-Kuwait Strengthen Counter-Terrorism Ties, Commit to Joint Fight Against Global Threats

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kuwait on Sunday, both nations pledged to intensify cooperation in the fight against terrorism, unequivocally condemning all forms of terror, including cross-border activities. The discussions centered around combating terrorism and disrupting financing networks, with specific references to Pakistan’s alleged role in supporting terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

The joint statement released after Modi’s talks with Kuwaiti leaders, including Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, highlighted a mutual commitment to dismantling terrorist infrastructure and addressing the challenges posed by cross-border terrorism.

Both countries emphasized the need to prevent the use of cyberspace for terrorism, radicalization, and destabilizing social harmony, signaling their intent to strengthen cybersecurity cooperation. Modi and the Kuwaiti leadership also agreed to enhance counter-terrorism collaboration, focusing on intelligence sharing, joint operations, capacity building, and law enforcement.

The strategic partnership forged through these talks aims to boost bilateral relations, including advancements in counter-terrorism measures, information exchange, anti-money laundering efforts, and the development of security technologies. This partnership underscores the growing commitment between India and Kuwait to address global security challenges and promote stability across the region.
