Imran Khan injured in firing incident during Haqeeqi March

Imran Khan, Ex- Prime Minister of Pakistan has been allegedly injured in a firing incident during his rally in Pakistan’s Gujranwala. He was participating in his long march on a container-truck against the Shehbaz Sharif government. He was seen with a bandaged and was rushed to a hospital in a SUV car.

The unfortunate incident happened in Wazirabad when the Haqiqi March entered. After the firing a panick situation occurred during the march. All the leaders on the container-truck panicked.

Five persons were reportedly hurt in the shooting incident, according to media reports citing sources. Ambulances are being used to transport those hurt in the shooting to the hospital.

This is not the first such incident in Pakistan, the firing brought back horrifying memories from 2007, when former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was shot dead during a rally. Many other politicians were assassinated in Pakistan, including, Farid Khan, Faridullah Khan, Liaquat Ali Khan, etc.

A video is surfacing the internet where it can be seen that he is being carried to his black SUV from the container-truck after getting injured in the leg.

The firing happened minutes later as he got to its roof for his speech.

The head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), who was purportedly ousted in April after losing the trust of the army establishment, has been calling for the resignation of the current central administration.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Muslim League of Pakistan (PML-N), his two primary competitors who are also rivals of one another, are working together in the current administration.

The 70 year-old former cricketer and Politician was hit in the leg and then police shifted him to a bullet-proof vehicle as he was rushed to the hospital. According to the reports, the accused has been detained.
