Here are the five applications that can help you de-stress

These apps will calm you down in these pandemic times.

If the Covid-19 pandemic weren’t bad enough, we just have the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput committing suicide at his residence in Mumbai this Sunday. Initial reports suggest he was suffering from depression. We, thus, recommend five apps that will help you calm down and de-stress, especially in these difficult times.

Headspace

One of the most popular apps, Headspace is available for both Android as well as iOS devices. The app provides the basics of mindfulness and meditation and also has soulful soundtracks that can help you sleep well. On a flipside, it has limited free material as most of it sessions on stress, sleep, anxiety, etc, are available on the paid version — Headspace Plus.

Down Dog

With more than 300,000 different configurations, this app is designed for practising yoga at home. The best thing about this application is that one can choose the specific area he or she would like to focus on. The app is free to use but the paid version comes with added features and content. One can use this app to start the basic asanas before taking it to the next level.

Moodpath

This app officially claims itself to be “your mental health companion”. It screens users for depressive behaviour via daily questions designed to increase their awareness of their thoughts and emotions. After two weeks, the app generates a report about your condition that you can bring to a mental health professional for discussion. Moodpath has more than 150 videos and exercises which can help users de-stress themselves.

Serenity

This app offers guided meditations and mindfulness techniques that aim to bring a sense of peace, calm and tranquility to life. It has a free seven-day basic course to get the user on the meditation journey. The app also offers a sleep guide that includes a selection of meditations designed to guide you to sleep using relaxation techniques and meditative sounds.

Sattva

As the name suggests, Sattva is a popular meditation app that is available for both Android and iOS devices. Claiming to draw from the Vedic idea of meditation, it contains guided meditations and chants along with soothing music. The app has curated playlists to help you sleep, de-stress or even unwind.
