A stray canine reportedly met a tragic end after being hurled from the rooftop of a building at Vihaan Heritage in Sector 1, Greater Noida West. Authorities are investigating the incident, examining surveillance videos to determine whether the dog fell accidentally through the grilles or was intentionally pushed.
Sushmita, who lives in the neighborhood and filed the complaint, mentioned that according to the CCTV footage, the dog entered the Sapphire 2 tower of the society at 1:53 am on Sunday.
The video shows the dog appearing to fall from the terrace on the seventh floor at 2:15 am. Although a guard shared a photo of the dog with the community group around 3 am, most residents learned about the dog’s death the same afternoon.
Sushmita mentioned that there are no cameras on the individual floors, so the footage only captured the dog’s fall. She said, “We are sure that somebody has thrown the dog from the terrace floor, but we don’t know who exactly.”
Animal activist Surbhi Rawat said “We are waiting to get footage from one more CCTV camera to get a clue about a culprit so that the person who has done it can be revealed and action can be taken.”
While an official complaint has not yet been filed (FIR), the police have stated that they are actively looking into the incident.
