Karnataka’s Home Minister G Parameshwara announced that a blue-corner notice has been issued to track down Prajwal Revanna, the suspect in a case involving sexual harassment and abduction. He also emphasized that the state administration has granted the special investigation team (SIT) complete autonomy to conduct its inquiry into the matter.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, G Parameshwara said, “The SIT is doing things as per procedure, and a fair investigation will be conducted. We gave full freedom to SIT for a fair investigation and they are already on the job.”
Responding to inquiries regarding the issuance of a blue-corner notice for Prajwal Revanna, who absconded abroad, Parameshwara said, “It is true that a blue-corner notice has been issued to find him. The concerned officers will locate him; we are trying to bring him back to the country. SIT is putting all efforts to bring him to India by following all the procedures.”
HD Revanna was apprehended by the SIT on Saturday evening in connection with a kidnapping case related to allegations of sexual abuse involving his son, Prajwal Revanna, the MP for Hassan. His arrest followed the dismissal of his anticipatory bail plea by a Bengaluru court.
HD Revanna underwent a medical examination on Saturday evening at Bowring Medical Institute, and he is expected to be presented before the magistrate today.
Following the series of sexual harassment allegations against HD Revanna and his son, Prajwal Revanna, a new case was registered on Thursday night against HD Revanna and his associate Sathish Babanna in Mysuru. The case alleges the abduction of a woman, who is also reportedly a victim of the alleged sexual abuse by MP Prajwal Revanna.
The SIT has issued a second lookout notice for Prajwal Revanna, who failed to appear for questioning.
