The book “Tea-Bags” by former Additional Director General of Police Rajbir Deswal was launched at the Maharaja Dahir Sen Auditorium of Haryana Academy of Literature and Culture. The chief guest, former Director General of Police Anil Sharma, praised Deswal’s significant contributions to literature and described his works as providing a wonderful glimpse into rural and folk life in Haryana.
Sharma acknowledged Deswal not only as an efficient police officer but also as a dedicated litterateur, lyricist, photographer, and journalist. Deswal, who has authored 23 books, including 7 books of poetry, is known for his active presence on social media and has published numerous articles on various subjects.
Dr. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, the Executive Vice President of the Academy, emphasized the government’s efforts to develop the Academy campus as a literary and cultural center. He highlighted the responsibility of writers to express their experiences and feelings accurately. Agnihotri noted the significant readership of Deswal’s works, stating that Deswal’s memoirs transcend personal narratives to become reflections of society as a whole.
Motivator and thinker Vivek Atreya praised Deswal’s versatility and acknowledged the positive impact of his dual roles as a policeman and writer. Atreya commended Deswal’s devotion to fulfilling his social responsibilities and described him as an enthusiastic and lively individual.
Special guest Dr. Gurdeep Dheer Gul spoke about the creative energies of a poet, comparing them to Brahma Shakti, Shiva Shakti, and Vishnu Shakti. He identified these qualities in Deswal’s work, where creativity, societal reflection, and the propagation of human sensitivities are evident.
Senior journalist S.D. Sharma shared insights into the untouched aspects of Deswal’s life, including his role as a singer. Another special guest, Dr. Chetna Vaishnavi, praised Deswal’s versatile talents and described him as a person with a simple and easy-going heart.
Rajbir Deswal, in discussing his creative process, expressed his intent to share experiences and sensibilities. During the program, he shared social experiences and presented some of his compositions. The event, attended by about 100 writers and dignitaries from Chandigarh and Panchkula, was effectively moderated by poet Shams Tavrezi.
