Filmmaker Subhash Ghai Admitted To Lilavati Hospital In Mumbai

Renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai has been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. The 79-year-old was moved to the hospital’s ICU on Wednesday after experiencing respiratory issues, weakness, and frequent dizziness.

According to an ABP News report Ghai is under the care of a medical team led by neurologist Dr. Vinay Chauhan, cardiologist Dr. Nitin Gokhale, and pulmonologist Dr. Jalil Parkar.

Ghai’s condition has improved, and he is expected to be shifted from the ICU to a general ward within a day, the ABP report said.

Subhash Ghai is a celebrated Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer renowned for his remarkable contributions to Hindi cinema. Born on January 24, 1945, in Nagpur, Maharashtra, he earned the title “Showman of Bollywood” for his grand cinematic vision and impactful storytelling.

Ghai is acclaimed for directing and producing iconic films such as Karz (1980), Hero (1983), Karma (1986), Ram Lakhan (1989), Saudagar (1991), and Taal (1999). Known for blending drama, music, and larger-than-life narratives, his work has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.

In 1978, he founded Mukta Arts, a production house that delivered many of his most successful projects. He also established Whistling Woods International, a premier film and media institute in Mumbai, nurturing future talent in the industry.

Throughout his illustrious career, Subhash Ghai has been honoured with numerous awards for his significant contributions to Indian cinema, cementing his status as a towering figure in the film industry.
