Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, the Congress leader and candidate from the Jaipur constituency, voiced strong confidence on Sunday about Congress securing 15 seats in Rajasthan, despite exit polls predicting a smaller number of two to seven seats for the party. Khachariyawas also asserted that the INDIA bloc would form the government at the Centre.
Speaking with ANI, Khachariyawas said, “The exit polls say that Congress can get seven seats in Rajasthan. Make it 15…” He further added, “Let the results come, INDIA alliance will form the government in the country… Congress will win more than 15 seats in Rajasthan and the INDIA alliance will form the government in the country.”
Khachariyawas also criticized the BJP, accusing the party of creating divisions between Hindus and Muslims. “BJP tried to create a vertical division between Hindus and Muslims throughout the elections. So, Dalits felt that they would be finished off,” he stated.
Additionally, Khachariyawas attacked the BJP on the issue of privatization, saying, “BJP has privatized everything which will result in the end of reservation… People are facing inflation and unemployment and they know that preparations are going on for changing the Constitution.”
Exit polls, however, predicted a clear majority for the NDA in Rajasthan. An aggregate of exit polls suggests that out of 25 Lok Sabha seats, the NDA is expected to win 18-23 seats, while the Congress-led INDIA bloc is projected to win 2-7 seats.
Specific exit poll figures from Times Now ETG indicated the NDA winning 18 seats, with the Congress-led INDIA bloc clinching seven seats. INDIA TV’s exit poll figures predicted the NDA securing 21 to 23 seats, while the INDIA bloc is expected to wrap up with two to four seats. Similarly, News 24’s exit poll figures predicted 22 seats for the NDA, two seats for the INDIA bloc, and one seat for others.
The final results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on June 4.
